At PHRS, the boys in the Mumford classroom worked hard to complete a Rube Goldberg machine to complete their Physical Science unit on Work and Machines. The boys designed and created a ramp which a hot wheels car rolls down, knocking into a set of dominoes. The end of the dominoes then bumps into a ball that rolls down yet another ramp and through a tunnel and into another line of dominoes. The dominoes knocked down a set of towers, the last attached to a string. The string is fixed on a pulley system which then raises a sign designed by a member of the group , which reads "Thank you for watching!" This project not only demonstrated student understanding, but also gave them an opportunity for hands on learning and creating.This was also a great way to instill a strong sense of hard work, success, and team building in individuals who haven't had many opportunities do so in the past. It was a success!
A huge thank you to Sheppard’s Way Church! They donated a pair of TOMS shoes to every elementary student. They have also donated Bombas Socks. Every elementary student will revive 5 pairs of socks. Thank you so much to Sheppard’s Way Church!

Pleasant Hope PTO participated in Teacher Appreciation Week providing daily themed treats and drinks. Families were also involved with opportunities to bring teachers items such as flowers, supplies, and cards. Thank you PTO from all the teachers at PHES!!
