Pleasant Hope High School Athletic Reschedules
Sept. 21 -- Volleyball @ Bradleyville will not be made up
Sept. 24th - Volleyball vs. Lockwood Will be rescheduled Monday, October 5th
Sept. 25th Football @ Lockwood is cancelled and will not be made up
Sept. 28th - Volleyball vs. Skyline -- Will not be made up at this time
Sept. 29th - Volleyball @ Pierce City - Will be rescheduled Monday, October 19th
Oct. 1st - Volleyball vs. Sarcoxie - Waiting to find a date that works for both schools to reschedule.

Late last night we were notified of two positive COVID-19 cases that were working in the Pleasant Hope Football Concession stand during the Friday night Football game on Sept. 18th in Pleasant Hope vs. Liberal. The positive cases were masked the entire time in the concession stand and not exhibiting symptoms at the time of the event.
The Polk County Health Department has asked that we make a statement regarding this potential exposure to people that may have visited the football concession stand on Friday night. There is minimal risk, but the Polk County Health Department has asked that you monitor for symptoms and if you are feeling or exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19 to contact your local healthcare providers.
Please continue to do all you can to protect yourself and those around you by wearing face coverings and socially distancing from those around you. Thank you for your cooperation.

Late last night we have been notified of two new positive COVID-19 exposure within Pleasant Hope High School. The positive cases are students at PHHS. Please join us in wishing them a quick and speedy recovery. The students was on campus and considered contagious during the days of September 17th, and 18th. At the direction of the Polk County Health Department all students and employees who were exposed directly to the individual who tested positive for COVID 19 are being contacted by the Polk County Health Department. Those needing to isolate and self quarantine to help stop the spread have been or will be notified today by the Polk County Health Department or the school nursing staff. If you do not receive a phone call about this situation, no action is needed on your part. As a reminder, exposure notifications will be distributed each day ( and at the completion of the weekends) if there are positive cases within the high school moving forward. This brings are total case amount to six positive Covid-19 cases over the 8 days. We want to remind students and parents that we are required to follow the guidelines of the CDC and Polk County Health Departments in regards to isolation and quarantine to help stop the spread of the virus. We encourage you to continue to do your part to keep everyone safe. We want to keep school moving forward as best we can and do our best to keep our school environment safe.

Please join us in wishing them a quick and speedy recovery. The staff members were on campus and considered contagious during the day of September 16th, 17th, and 18th.

Pleasant Hope Volleyball game at Bradleyville today has been cancelled and the Volleyball game on Thursday, Sept. 24th is postponed until Oct. 5th at home.
Cross Country at Stockton tomorrow Sept. 22nd is also cancelled.

If your family requested a hotspot you may pick it up TODAY Monday, September 21st from 8:00am-11:30am at the elementary office. Preschool bags will also be handed out at this time.

At the direction of the Polk County Health Department all students and employees who were exposed directly to the individual who tested positive for COVID 19 are being contacted by the Polk County Health Department. Those needing to isolate and self quarantine to help stop the spread have been notified by Pleasant Hope Elementary School and have been picked up from school, the teachers who were exposed were not present today. If you did not receive a phone call about this situation, no action is needed on your part.
Due to several teachers being exposed, the Pleasant Hope ELEMENTARY School Prek-4th Grade will be teaching/ learning virtually starting September 22-25 and September 29th-October 2nd (8 school days). At this time we plan on returning October 6th to seated instruction. Students are bringing home all virtual materials needed today. Your child's classroom teacher will email you with instructions for his/her virtual learning. We are taking a proactive approach and trying to act quickly to stop the spread. Our district, like all others, has a shortage of subs and does not have subs to cover these classes. PHES currently has 2 positive cases, with 9 students and 6 teachers who have been asked to quarantine.

Pleasant Hope Elementary has 7 teachers quarantined today. One teacher has tested positive for COVID 19. The entire Elementary will be on virtual learning for the next 2 weeks. Elementary students will return to school October 6th. This is elementary only!
