Windy Wednesday finds us pushing closer to the official end of our school year, and I want each of you to know I am always available to answer questions. Many of you have already done so. Seniors and Senior Parents as well as the Pleasant Hope Community, In the midst of all that is going on in our world, I have worked with many others in gathering advice, talking with parents, our staff, and administration in developing a plan for a graduation ceremony. With the governor cancelling all school classes and activities for the remainder of the school year, we have come up with a plan for after school is out. We have made the decision to hold the ceremony on June 6th, 2020 at 10:00am. We are putting together a plan to hold the ceremony on the football field to allow for parents and their senior child to be a part of the ceremony so we can recognize all graduates in front of their classmates and parents while still allowing for guidelines of social distancing if needed at that time. This will allow us to have all speakers still speak at graduation, award scholarship winners and have all graduates be able to accept a diploma in front of their classmates and parents. The plan would be for the graduates to be spaced out on the football field, to have a sound system, podium, etc. up front to award diplomas at the given time and then have parents be able to space out on the football field and bleachers during the ceremony. If all of the guidelines for gatherings of less than 10 feet goes away prior to the June 6th date, we will plan to have a more formal ceremony like we have had in the past that will possibly be in the middle school gymnasium. In the result of inclement weather and restrictions still in place, the decision has been made to have graduates still be present and be spaced out in the gymnasium possibly. We will do our best to live stream the event and still allow for graduates to get a diploma as well as give speeches and recognize scholarships etc. I would love for all of the COVID-19 restrictions to go away and we can have a more formal, normal ceremony, but we felt it best to put together a somewhat concrete plan and date at this time for all seniors to be able to make plans for a graduation date and ceremony. Thanks to everyone for their willingness to help out in these difficult times and we will get through this and we will recognize the Amazing Class of 2020!!!! Ms.Downey's Ceramics Classes: Question: What does duct tape, cardboard, toothpicks and a tin can have in common? Answer: I really don't know, but you could probably make a sculpture out of it! Don't forget to submit your sculpture+progress pics OR sculptor research paper today! Happy Wednesday! :)

Reminder for Ms. Hartman's classes: Tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. I am hosting a brief Google hangout to give the opportunity for asking questions and discussion. You should have received an email with the link for it last weeks. Worth participation points.

Ms. Ravens' Drama Class: I had a lot of fun reading your critiques and seeing what you all chose to evaluate! At this point, all critiques I have received should be updated in the grade book. If you completed an assignment but did not receive a grade, please reach out to me. Sometimes submitting by email has its issues. Depending on the sharing permissions, I was also not able to directly comment on some of the electronic submissions, though I was still able to read and grade them. If you have any questions about your grade, please let me know. I'm also happy to work with students who were not able to submit their work during the original window. Miss you all very much!

Hello to Ms.Downey's high school art students! PHOTOGRAPHY: I really enjoyed your theme photos! What a treat :) you still have time to submit guesses before the theme reveal! Plus you are working on the Art Reflects Society magazine layout. GRAPHIC ARTS - Once you've finalized your logo, layout a business card! Don't forget the sketchbook! CERAMICS - be sure to get those papers or sculpture pics in & start working on your new challenge: Design a Set. I miss your faces! Take care everyone :)

Ms. Ravens' ACT Prep and English IV classes: Your work for the week is uploaded onto Classroom. Please let me know if you have any questions! English III: I've uploaded new assignment portals for your weekly journals. Keep in mind, you only need to use these for electronic submission. Paper is still welcome!

Ms. Altic's Classes- Algebra 2- You guys should be continuing to work on the packets that were handed out. They are labeled for each week so as long as you get those done weekly, you are good to go! College Algebra- You all have a test on Wednesday through Canvas, so make sure you are studying for that! Computer Science Classes- Keep up the good work on what was given to you all! Keep working on your coding. I miss all of you and I can't wait to see you again! Stay safe and stay healthy!

Mr. Conklin's Pre-Alg: If you need help, I am just an e-mail away. After grading the first 3 weeks of semester review packets the biggest struggles are with factoring. Your notes will have great examples of problems. Let me know how I can help! Be sure to show your work.

Mr. Conklin's Leadership: Wow! Thanks for all the great feedback on districts for next school year. It will take a few days to digest all your thoughts and ideas. Your next assignment will be posted in classroom. Give feedback on ideas of other people that you like. Miss you all!

Turner Physics - Submit your 2 choice activities if you have not already done so, and prepare to take a look at waves and sound from your written packet next week.

CHEM II DC Turner I will be sending out a study guide for your final exam on Classroom next week and in the next written packet, and will likely be administering the final via google classroom as well.I will be in contact with each dual credit student next week via email.

Chemistry I and II- Coach Turner work should be continuing on the self guided organic chemistry packet in both classes. If you are done with it next week will begin your final new topic,Nuclear Chem. Get as much out of it as you can, do not hesitate to contact me with questions.
