KSPR 33 Athlete of the Week is Pleasant Hope Softball Player Hailey Richardson
Pleasant Hope junior 2nd baseman Hailey Richardson struggled at the plate her junior season, but has found her stroke big time in 2011. Richardson opened the season with a state record 13 for 13 hit streak, and is currently hitting .720 after 7 games, all wins for the Pirates.
Richardson is one of 6 Pleasant Hope juniors who have started since their freshman year when the Pirates made it to the state tournament. That same group was disappointed with a 1-run sectional loss to eventual state champion Warsaw last season, but is looking for big things this fall.
Richardson is this weeks Arby's High School Athlete of the Week.
